Little Boxes of Love

Hey Krafters!
It's Kristen here, hoping everyone had a lovely Christmas and wishing my bloggers an amazing New Year!

Here are two explosion boxes I've done. The first one is from a set I made to give away/sell; I set one aside to fill with lots of fun memories I had with my friends in the past several years, mostly during my high school days.
The second is one I made for one of my college friends to give to his girlfriend on her birthday. (How sweet of him, right?) She loved it!

Cheers!

Hey Krafters!

This is a birthday card I did for my roommate! [Usually when I'm doing a card, I go ahead and make a couple extra]. It's really simple, but cute! The card base is 8" by 9". The 3 boxes are 2.5" by 2.75" with inked edges.
I used 4 different stamps -- the top two are from a Birthday stamp set, the "cheers" was sold as a separate in the Michael's $1 bin, and the leopard print came from an animal print stamp set.
I topped it off with ribbons, brads, and a touch of stickles. Hope ya like!

Celebrate!

Hello darling krafters....

School has really started to kick up so unfortunately I don't have as much time to blog and scrap these days, but I try to get on whenever I have some free time to comment. I always have sooo much homework but I still make some cards here and there. =]

Recently, I made these "Celebrate" cards

They can be used for birthdays, promotions or any special occasion under the sun! My mom bought several new colors of Copic markers and some cute stamps, so I wanted to try them out! I just love this color combination so much.

I'm entering this in at My Craft Spot for the ribbon challenge! Her designers' inspiration pieces are really amazing.

I am also linking up at You Had Me At Craft, of course!

Hopefully my teachers don't keep me too bogged down with studying so I won't be gone for too long ;-]

Keep Krafting!

Just a friendly reminder to my fellow krafters out there who loveee Michaels just as much as we do... their scrapbooking sale ends tomorrow! 50% off of all pads that are usually $19.99! My mom has already taken advantage of this sale and stacked up on more stacks! Guess that means we have a LOT of krafting to do!
This is a great opportunity to get Michaels' new line of Recollections Signature Paper Pads as well as other brands.

There are three very lovely giveaways going on over at:

Tweet Tweet

Helloooo lovely krafters!

These are two little coordinating birdy cards for no particular reason!
One is a birthday card and the other is simply an inspiration card.

I can't remember what cartridge I used for the birds or what stack the paper is from (if you recognize anything, please, let me know!). Just simply showing two recent cards that I have done.

When I don't write down my procedures and recipes while I'm working I just forget.. soo many things I have to keep up with now that I'm working and in school! Being away from home causes me to be away from most of my krafting supplies, but I still try to fit in some krafting while I'm here at my school apartment! Can't stay away for too long...

I am linking this up on You Had Me at Craft and Crafty Boots Challenges for their first challenge: anything goes!

Til next time, keep krafting! =]

Touchdown!

Hi Krafters! I'm here for another challenge...The Creative Cutter Room is hosting a sports themed challenge. My FAVORITE sport to watch is football, and I am soooo excited for the NFL season to start on Sunday!

I am also excited for my school's football team...We just beat the Miami Hurricanes in our season opener this past Monday...Whooo, go Terps!!

My personal favorite professional team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. (Black and Yellow for life!). However, since I was born and raised in Redskins nation I also have love for my home team. With that being said, I decided to do a football themed card for a Redskins fan. (Hence the burgundy and gold.)

This is a modified easel style card that I made with the Sports Mania cartridge. I would love to do a little tweaking to this card and make more in the future (in black and yellow!), but I thought this was nice for my first time trying this style.

I'm also linking this card up to Scrapalicious and Patches of Pink because they are both hosting fall-themed challenges/link-up parties.. When I think of the fall, I immediately think football season, so I think it should fit in!

Enjoy =]

Make a Wish!

Good morning krafters! Today I am showing a card I did for the adorable blog Birthday Sundaes challenge #25 as well as the creative Alphabet Challenge Blog "P is for Pastel," and Pile It On's "B is for brads" challenge.

I made this card for one of close friends/my "sis" Tamika using the Sweet Treats cartridge (cupcake, "make a wish") and the Celebrate with Flourish cartridge for the "Happy Birthday."I also added the cute cupcake brads because she absolutely lovesss cupcakes!

Hope everyone has a relaxing and Happy Labor Day!

Hello Kitty Hugs&Kisses

Hey Krafters! This is an S-Fold card I did using both the Hello Kitty and Hello Kitty Cartridges. I thought I'd send this over to my friend Morgan, who absolutely adores Hello Kitty (I do too! I think these cartridges are beyond cute). Oh! I also used the Wild Card Cartridge for the background on the inside. And then I had a ball with the embellishments! Ribbon, flowers, heart brads, and flower brads. I also used glitter on Hello Kitty's heart (the chunky glitter that comes in the tiny jars in various colors), so I will be entering this into Paper Craft Weekend Challenge's September product challenge: to use GLITTER! I also used a bit of yellow stickles for her nose.

Thank You! + Giveaway at My-O-Scrappin!

Just a short thank you post! As you may already know, we are very new to the Blogspot world and still getting acquainted. Our "Birthday Princess" card has just been featured on Patches of Pink and the lovely Letillia (Diva of 5) thought of us when passing forward the butterfly award she received. I wanted to give a big shout out and thank you to both ladies; now we have some buttons to jazz up our page!

Also, there is an awesome giveaway at My-O-Scrappin once she reaches 100 followers! She's very talented and has some great prizes to give away, definitely check her blog out!

Grandma's Card

Hey Krafters!

Today I'm uploading a project for the Cricut 360 Challenge #10: Grandparents, in honor of the upcoming Grandparents day.

My grandma recently had a birthday! She is my ANGEL and pretty much my favorite person in the world. She is now 85… and although her knees aren’t in the best shape anymore she still makes crazy moves. Still drives around everywhere (and no she doesn’t even drive a “grandma car”), she still travels alll the time, volunteers — basically she’s still about her business... love her!

So I made a card with some of her favorite colors and added a few things she likes -- flowers and hearts. I also added a white strip on the right side to write her a nice little birthday message =]

Wishing everyone a safe and fun Labor Day weekend! Mwahh...keep krafting!

Aloha!

Aloha Krafters! What's going on? Today is my first day of classes... bittersweet. College is going by sooo fast, I tell ya.

I made these easel cards using the Bright Blossom paper stack (It's really pretty!). The "Aloha" and "Happy Birthday" phrases both came from Life's A Beach cartridge. I also used brads to give the flowers a little extra pop.  If you open up the card, there is space to write a message above the "Happy Birthday." I love easel cards! Hope you enjoy =]

Also joining Patches of Pink's Link Up Party again!

Hey Baby!

Good afternoon krafters! Today I am showing the first
baby card I did. It's a gate fold card and the Baby paper stack I used is soo adorable! I made a baby girl and a baby boy version.  For the stroller on the front I used the Cricut Sampler cartridge, and I got the background shape that the stroller is on from Lacy Labels. The "Welcome" on the inside is from Cricut Office Help.  The "congratulations" is stamped; I also used brads and ribbons to embellish a little. Hope ya like =]

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Oh Boy!

Good evening all!

How are all the East Coast bloggers who were hit by Irene doing? As of this evening the power in my neighborhood back at home is still out along with half the power in my apartment building! Yes, half the power in my apartment is on and half is off. Don't ask me how that happened! But I haven't experienced any damages so I'm thankful!

This is a shutters boys card I made with paper from the Tea Party stack. The cartridges I used include Boys Will Be Boys (robot and "Oh Boy") and Celebrations (It's Your Day). The card base measures 5.5"x4"

I am posting this on You Had Me at Craft, there are already a bunch of great projects up...Go go go!

Birthday Princess + Link Up Party

I wanted to do a girly card using the Once Upon a Princess cartridge, and this is what I came up with! I think a young princess would love to get one of these on her birthday!

The paper stacks I used were Penny Lane (outside) and So So Sweet (inside).

I'm posting this on Patches of Pink's and Made It Myself Mondays Link-Up parties... check out the other great posts!

A Thousand Sheets Give Away!

I'm entering the A Thousand Sheets give away over at Deanne's Creative Juice! Hopefully it's not too late... go over and check it out!

Monkey Business

Good afternoon! I hope everyone on the East Coast is being careful as Hurricane Irene approaches! I'm here hoping it doesn't hit my area of Maryland too hard... figured I'd do a few posts since I will be in my apartment all day staying away from all the rain and wind. It would be a great weekend for making some cards, however alll of my supplies are at home in our kraft studio. Looks like I'll be blogging all day!

This is a very simple but cute easel card I did using the Create-A-Critter cartridge. If you have any questions about the sizes and/or dimensions just send a comment! =]

a GLAM birthday

"Wishing you a Glam Birthday!"
These cards are 5"x7" made with the Safari paper stack. *Note: I LOVE this stack but it is NOT construction paper so it's a little harder to work with.
The cricut cartridge used is Forever Young. The middle piece with the lady's silhouette on it is popped up; I found that this makes the card look a little better in my opinion. I also used ribbons and brads to embellish them. The black and white & black and orange zebra print strips you see on the two back cards are from a pack of Safari Tape I got from Hobby Lobby (they also have a pack of brads to match this tape).

For the inside of the cards, I simply used some scrap pieces of paper I had lying around from the Safari stack and threw a few different designs together. Tell me what you think!

Slam Dunk//Play Ball!

Happy Birthday Sports Cards

These cards measure 8"x4" .. For the basketball card (player and "Slam Dunk") I used the Basketball cartridge and I made the baseball card with the Sports Mania cartridge. The "Happy Birthday" is used from Base Camp.
The basketball on the front of the card and the baseball in between "Play Ball" are brads -- they came in a  pack along with footballs.
The striped paper in the background is from the Sunshine Paper Pad

You're My Melody

I made these with the music lovers in mind (especially my dad, he loves playing the piano and used to make some really dope beats!).
This is probably one of my favorites and I would love to make more.
It's a 5"x7" card used with the Quarter Note cartridge for the music notes and for the word "melody" on the inside. The inside background sentiment is from Story Book. The paper on the top panel is from the All Dressed Up glitter paper stack, the middle piece with the music notes on the background came from sheets of paper sold individually, and the bottom piece is Cuttle Bugged.

I applied a little bit of Stickles just to give some extra pop to them...

It's Your Day Easel

Wow... there's a lot on this card! Stamps, ribbons, cut outs, stickles, etc... Lol. This is an Easel style card I did for another one of my friend's birthdays. The Cheetah print strip on the top is from the Safari Untamed paper stack, and the inked cheetah print on the bottom is from a stamp set.
I think I used 3 or 4 different cartridges for this card, which I can't remember off the top but if you would like to know I will gladly check when I get home or have my mom check... (I'm away from my studio here at my college apartment).
The cartridges used most likely include Sweet Treats (gift), Once Upon a Princess (Happy Birthday), and Celebrations (It's Your Day and gift).

Life Is Sweeter...

This is one of the very first projects I did with my mom. I was just getting acquainted with the Cricut machine and stamping and wanted to make a card for my best friend's 20th birthday.

For this card, the only cartridge used was Sweet Treats for the cake, confetti, and the "2," and the "0" is a flower from a small set of flower accessories that came from Michael's. The pink background paper came pre-textured.

I don't remember the exact recipes for some of my early cards, but I will try to recall as much as I can. And if you happen to have any other questions about the cards, just shoot me a comment or message...  between my mother and me, we should be able to answer!

Our First Post!

Hello All! It's Kristen here... I will be doing pretty much all of the blog posts of the projects my mother and I have done. It will take me a minute to get used to this Blogspot business (we are a little late catching on), but please bear with me!

First off, I'd figure I'd share some of what our work space looks like. Our purple krafting studio! (I like to call it "The Stu")

This space started off as my toy room when I was a little girl -- mostly a room full of Barbies galore.
As I grew out of the Barbie phase we painted it purple (my absolute favorite color for as long as I can remember) and turned it into my "office." I'd do homework, hangout, watch TV, and listen to music in here. Next...it became our kraft room! We thought the pink and green accents gave it a nice touch. It quickly became filled with paper stacks, ribbons, glitter, and pretty much everything else the kraft store has. My mom looveessss shopping for all of our supplies -- we can't keep her out of Michael's! Lol. Anywho, this is only one side of the room. To the left is our cartridge bookshelf and to the right is our desk. We also have a TV in there but since it's behind the desk I don't really watch it while I'm krafting (having to turn my back distracts me). I usually just turn up my music and cut away!

I really hope you all enjoy our blog... I will do a few posts today to get it started... let's go!
